For this screening in the Architecture Film Series, we turn from documentaries to a fictional portrayal of an iconic architect.  Adapted for the screen by Ayn Rand from her best-selling novel, The Fountainhead is the story of architect Howard Roark (Gary Cooper) and his struggle between his values and artistic goals and those of the society at large.  Patricia Neal makes her film debut as the formidable Dominique Francon, the woman who tries to defeat Roark before falling in love with him.

Dr. David Whillock, Dean of the College of Communication at TCU, will lead our post-screening discussion.  We'll also have original movie posters on display.

Admission is a $10 donation to the Dallas Center for Architecture.  Refreshments will be provided.
