A Celebration of.....The Parking Garage
It seems that the big architecture news story of the week is the opening of the Burj Dubai/Kahlifa which we’ve already covered to death. So we’ll forgo our regular Wednesday news round-up to feature a couple of stories on a much-maligned, but ubiquitous, part of our urban environment: the parking garage.
If you’re up D.C way, you’ll want to check out the National Building Museum’s exhibition “House of Cars.” The Washington Times has a review of the show, which includes contemporary examples, as well as designs by Louis Sullivan and Frank Lloyd Wright.
And NPR’s All Things Considered has their story here.
