Friday Fun: The Flashback Edition
For today’s issue, we’ll take a look back….waaaaay back. Here are a couple of recent articles featuring architecture from the ancient world.
First up, an article on the discovery of Old Kingdom tombs in Egypt. More than 4300 years old, the colors on the false doors are still vibrant today. It makes one wonder if any of our contemporary buildings will be around in two millennia.
And here’s one that’s both a look back and a musing on the future. The title says it best, As Rome Modernizes, Its Past Quietly Crumbles.
